Rams defensive end Leonard Little will try to have his slate wiped completely clean in regards to a traffic stop in April 2004. Little is appealing a misdemeanor speeding conviction he received earlier this month, which also came with a two-year probation which prohibits him from drinking alcohol.
On Arpil 23, 2004, Little was stopped in suburban St. Louis for driving 78 mph in a 55 mph zone. On the scene police officers administered three field sobriety tests, all of which Little failed, according to reports. He refused to take a breathalyzer test. He was arrested for felony drunk driving, but that charge was dropped earlier this month because of conflicting reports by officers who didn’t agree on whether Little appeared drunk at the time. Later, he admitted to drinking two beers before he got behind the wheel.
In 1998, Little was legally drunk when he ran a red light and hit a woman with his car. The woman later died and Little pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
