The Justice Department says federal prosecutor Todd Graves does not have a conflict of interest because his wife has been given a State Revenue Department license fee office to run. Governor Blunt has appointed Graves’ wife to the patronage job in Gladstone. Democrats had complained that the appointment would make Graves less likely to investigate any issue related to Blunt or to the state. Graves is a Bush appointee as US Attorney for western Missouri. His jurisdiction includes the state Capitol.
