The Mizzou baseball team finished off its home schedule with a 4-3 win over Kansas on Sunday. The Tigers got the win in an improbable fashion. With the bases loaded and the score tied at 3-3, Tiger junior Trevor Helms walked with the bases loaded to score Jacob Priday.

Reliever Andrew Johnson worked around a lead-off single by KU first baseman Jared Schweitzer in the top of the ninth, to record the win in 1 2/3 innings of relief.

MU overcame a 3-0 deficit in the third inning with three runs, thanks in large part to two walks and a hit batter. The Tigers had just four hits on the day.

Mizzou improved to 34-17 on the season and 14-10 in the Big 12. The Tigers will play two games in O’Fallon Missouri this week against Southern Illinois on Tuesday and Illinois on Wednesday. Then they travel to Waco, Texas this weekend to face Baylor, which is in first place in the Big 12. They trail the Bears by four games, so the best MU could hope for is to finish in second place.
