Cardinals’ third baseman Scott Rolen will most likely be out for at least a month after spraining his right shoulder earlier this week. Rolen was placed on the disabled list on Thursday. Doctors hear he may have also suffered cartilage damage after colliding with Dodgers first baseman Hee Seop Choi on Tuesday night. The collision knocked the ball of his shoulder out of socket. It eventually worked its way back into the socket, but Rolen has had trouble lifting his arm above his head.

The Cardinals have recalled third baseman Scott Seabol from Class-AAA Memphis. He may platoon with veteran John Mabry at third until Rolen is healthy enough to return. Seabol couldn’t be coming up at a better time—he’s hitting .325 with eight homers, 26 RBI’s and he’s in the midst of an 18-game hitting streak.

Reliever Jason Isringhausen will come off the disabled list today after suffering an abdominal strain last month. Isringhausen left the Cardinals’ game with the Brewers in the middle of an inning after keeling over in pain. He has seven saves this season.
