The 2005 session of the Legislature ends, but lawmakers will be back in September for a special session to deal with abortion legislation that failed to clear the General Assembly in the final days and hours. Abortion legislation is one of the issues falling into Governor Blunt’s “unfinished business” category. He’s also looking to work on shoring up the unemployment insurance fund. Another issue the Governor says must be addressed in the coming months: Making necessary changes to the Medicaid program so that it will be able to serve the neediest Missourians.
