SMS head baseball coach won his 800th game as the Bears skipper with a 15-6 victory over Kansas. Guttin, who is in his 23rd season at SMS, has an overall record of 800-480. He’s the first SMS coach, in any sport, to win 800 games.
Designated hitter Adam Pummill was 3-for-5 with a single, double and a triple, with an RBI and three runs scored. 10 of the Bears’ 16 hits went for extra bases. With the win, SMS improved to 18-29 on the season.
