Every two years, the state puts out a new map of Missouri with all the road, bridge, towns, and parks changes that accumulate during that period. Randall Hoskins is a part of the two-man mapmaking team for the state transportation department. He says it’s a process that takes nearly a year from start to finish. The other half of the team, Marc Howard says this way is much better than how they made maps when he started with the State Transportation Department 27 years ago by making changes to a four-foot by eight-foot master by hand. The latest edition of the state map has just been completed. Maps are available through MoDOT or you can get one at any of the highway rest centers or visitors centers or through the Department of Tourism.
