They’ve been so close all week. The Royals have lost all four games this week by a total of just six runs. After being swept by the White Sox, Kansas City lost its series opener to Baltimore last night by a score of 3-1. The Royals took the lead on an RBI single by Ken Harvey in the fourth. The Orioles quickly responded, scoring three times in the bottom of the inning. B.J. Surhoff drove in two of those runs. He finished the night three-for-four. Sidney Ponson shut down the Royals, allowing just one run on five hits in eight innings. At 7-22, the Royals are off to the worst 29-game start in team history.
