As the budget process winds down, a St. Louis-area based attorney is talking about launching legal action over some of the proposed budget cuts. Lawyer Tom Kennedy says disabled Missourians could be at risk as a result of the proposed cuts. Kennedy says it’s all in the planning stages, at this point, until the budget process is completed. He has sued the state, previously, over budget cuts in 2002. And, he was successful in having adult dental services restored and having the prescription eyeglasses benefit restored. He argued there were violations of federal statutes, like the Americans With Disabilities Act, and says that could be the case again this year.
