The Royals suffered another frustrating defeat, as their losing streak reached eight games. Kansas City tied the Twins twice on Thursday, only to lose 6 -5 in 11 innings.

After getting down 3-0, Kansas City tied the game in the third with a three-run rally. David DeJesus drove in two runs with a double and Mike Sweeney had an RBI with a sacrifice fly. It remained tied until the seventh inning when Lew Ford hit an RBI double and Justin Morneau drove in a run with a single.

Down 5-3, Ken Harvey, who was just called up from Omaha, scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning. Angel Berroa tied the game on Juan Castor’s fielding error in the ninth.

In the 11th, Ford struck again with a single which scored Joe Mauer. The Royals went down in order in the bottom of the 11th.

In all three losses to the Twins, the Royals either led or were tied in the seventh inning.
