St. Louis Cardinal starting pitcher Mark Mulder went 2-0 in two starts last week and was named the National League Player of the Week on Monday.

Mulder pitched 18 innings and allowed just one earned run. On April 18, he allowed one run in eight innings in a win over the Pirates. On Saturday, he turned in what may be the most impressive performance in the majors this season. Mulder pitched a 10-inning complete-game shutout over the Astros on Saturday. The Cardinals won the game 1-0.

He went in to his first start last week with a 8.18 ERA and lowered it to 3.10 after his win on Saturday.
