The Springfield Cardinals left Wichita with a bad taste in their mouths, losing 15-6. Springfield starter Justin Pals lasted just 3 2/3 innings and dropped to 0-3. Pals was charged with five of the six runs the Wranglers scored in the fourth inning, to give themselves an 8-1 lead.

Down 8-1 in the fifth inning, the Cardinals rallied for four runs, thanks in large part to Travis Hanson’s three run homer, to make it 8-5. But that’s as close as Springfield got the rest of the way.

The bullpen was so depleted that utility infielder Bo Robinson pitched the eighth inning. He had the best performance of any of the Springfield hurlers, putting Wichita down in order.
