A task force of Transportation Department engineers and community leaders has whittled down a $3-Billion list of 59 road and bridge projects to 29 projects $1.3-Billion – the amount expected from the bonding of Amendment Three money. The list will be given to highway commissioners next month with final approval sometime this summer. Although there are still some slight discrepencies regarding how much some projects might cost and whether they all will fit in the budget, MoDOT’s Marcie Meystrik actually expects the list of 29 projects that have survived will remain intact for the May Highway Commission meeting. Officials say they plan to use this same process each year to present their statewide transportation plans to the Commission.
