Former Chiefs punter Jerrel Wilson has died of cancer at the age of 63. Wilson, who was known as “Thunderfoot”, played for Kansas City from 1963 through 1977 and was named to the Chiefs’ Hall of Fame. In that time he averaged 43 yards per punt in 203 games. Only Nick Lowrey, who played in 212 games, wore the Chiefs’ uniform more often. He was also named to the all-time AFL team. Wilson died on Saturday.
