The Army Corps of Engineers says the snow-melt runoff on the Great Plains and northern Rocky Mountains is expected to be only two-thirds normal this Spring. That’s bad news for the Missouri River’s downstream states. The Corps says low water levels in the Missouri could shorten the barge navigation season by two months. The Corps will make that decision after evaluating water levels July first.
