The panel set up to reform state government has held its inaugural meeting – a get acquainted session – in Jefferson City. Now, the hard work begins. The Missouri State Government Review Commission Task Force will hear budget and organizational recommendations from department officials and from the public. Commission Co-Chair Stephen Bradford says the panel is open to any and all suggestions. Bradford wants a draft recommendation sent to Governor Blunt by year’s end. Four more public hearings are going to be held in Jefferson City. In addition, five public meetings will be held throughout the state to give citizens and advocacy groups the chance to weigh in with their proposals.
