The deadline for filing your income tax returns is rapidly approaching. About 2.7-Million individual income tax returns were filed with the State Revenue Department last year. As of March 31st, this year, more than 1.6-Million Missourians had filed, with almost 1.2-Million receiving refunds. The Department’s Maura Browning says it’s not uncommon for those receiving money to file as soon as they can. Browning reminds taxpayers that returns must be filed by April 15th to avoid penalties. That goes for those who are expecting refunds as well as those who owe money.
