The SMS Lady Bears are still alive and kicking. They advanced in their second round game of the WNIT by topping Gonzaga 85-66 at the Hammons Student Center in Springfield Monday night. SMS raced out to a 44-36 lead in the first half of play and turned it on in the second half to run away with their 22nd win of the season.

Jenni Lingor paced the Lady Bears with 22 points and seven assists, while Kari Koch added 16. The Lady Bears out-rebounded Gonzaga, thanks in no small part to Nicole Lehman, who grabbed seven boards to go with her 11 points.

SMS improved to 22-8 and will host their third straight WNIT game, as Texas A&M comes to town on Thursday.
