Governor Matt Blunt has made two more appointemnts. Tom Deuschle has been nominated as the Director of the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. The 47-year-old Sedalia native previously served as Missouri’s Division of Employment Security Director. Most recently, he has worked for the U.S. Department of Labor as the Regional Director of Job Corps under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the State Senate. Katharine Barondeau, the Interim Director of the Department, will now serve the Department’s Director of the Division of Employment Security. The 44-year-old Barondeau has served as Director of Corporations and Assistant General Counsel for Missouri Secretary of State, as Legislative Analyst for the Missouri House of Representatives, and as Assistant Counsel for the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission.
