In a nailbiter that went into overtime, the Pembroke Hill Raiders of Kansas City have won the Class 3 Girls Basketball Championship, downing the Lutheran Cougars of St. Peters 47-45. Freshman guard Kristina Mingos led the scoring, pumping in 25 points. Center Elyseia Dunn added 10. The top scorer for Lutheran was guard Lisa Clark, who tallied 13 points. Forward Katie Kirby scored 10, while guard Ashley Warren had nine. The title is Pembroke Hill’s third. The Raiders won the State Championship in 1995 and again in 1999. The team’s victory in the championship game caps a 27-4 season. Runner-up Lutheran finished the season at 28-4.
