CLASS 3 GIRLS SEMIFINALS

PEMBROKE HILL 44 HANCOCK 38

Pembroke Hill was able to book end Hancock, defensively to grab a 44-38 victory in the Class 3 girls semifinals. PHHS held Hancock to seven points in first and fourth quarters to advance to the state championship game. The game was close throughout, in fact Hancock led 21-19 at the half and Pembroke Hill had a four point advantage after three quarters. Kristina Mingos led all scorers with 21 points and was the only member of the Pembroke Hill roster to score more than eight points. Hancock dropped to 29-3 and Pembroke Hill improved to 26-4. They will try to win the first girls state basketball title in school history.

LUTHERAN-ST. PETERS 48 SPRINGFIELD CATHOLIC 38

Lutheran-St. Peters jumped out to a 16-3 lead over Springfield Catholic in the first quarter and overcame a slow third quarter to win 48-38. Lutheran led 28-15 after the first half, but Springfield Catholic showed their competitive spirit by cutting that lead to 35-31 after three quarters. But Lutheran went on a 13-7 run in the fourth quarter to put it away and move them to their first state title game in school history. Lutheran-St. Peters is 28-3 while Springfield Catholic dropped to 18-12
