The Missouri women saw their basketball season come to an end Wednesday with a 70-52 loss to top-seeded Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament. The ninth-seeded Tigers trailed 22-8 early on and could never quite catch up. MU went into the locker room down by 14 points and was able to get within 10 when Megan Roney hit a three pointer with 16:04 to go in the game to make it 47-37 Baylor. The Bears, which are ranked 6th in the nation, responded with a 21-6 run to put the game out of reach. Baylor hit nearly 52 percent of their shots, while Missouri managed just 35.8 percent from the field.

The Tigers, which end the season with an 11-18 record, needed to win the Big 12 Tournament to qualify for any post-season play. It’s the first time they haven’t made either the NCAA Tournament or the WNIT since 1999.
