Anyone who helps a young girl cross the state line to get an abortion could be sued by her parents under a bill receiving tentative approval in the House. The bill also would require abortion clinics be located within 30 miles of a hospital to handle any complications that might arise. Missouri already requires parental consent for a minor to have an abortion. Supporters say the bill would keep young girls from skirting the law by traveling to another state.
