Former St. Louis broadcasters Dizzy Dean and France Laux are two of ten finalists for the Ford C. Frick Award. The winner, which is expected to be announced Tuesday, will enter the Baseball Hall of Fame’s broadcasting wing. Both men broadcasted St. Louis Browns and St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. Dean parlayed his local success into national success when he worked CBS’ Game of the Week from 1955-1965. He’s already in the Hall of Fame as a Cardinals pitcher.
