Jeff Gordon won his third Daytona 500 yesterday, while defending points champion Kurt Busch finished 2nd. Six Missouri natives were in the field of 43….Rusty Wallace finished 10th in his final Daytona 500 and Carl Edwards of Columbia was 12th in his first Daytona. A wreck knocked Joplin’s Jamie McMurray out of the field 17 laps shy of the finish line and he finished 32nd. Fenton native Ken Schrader was 39th, while St. Louisans Kenny and Mike Wallace were 40th and 41st.
