Branson’s Liberty Tree has been taken down by a bulldozer and cut up. It was called the Liberty Tree because it was thought to be about 200 years old. But a couple of months ago, experts determined it was diseased beyond saving and unsafe. It was a bur oak, 80 feet tall, standing on city-owned land that is now part of the $300-Million Branson Landing redevelopment project.
