Jenni Lingor and Kari Koch scored 23 points apiece as SMS downed Illinois State 72-64 in Springfield. In last night’s game, Lingor continued to cement her role as one of the best to ever play for SMS by moving into fourth place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,660 points. She also became the first Lady Bear to move into the top 10 in points, rebounds, assists and steals. Illinois St. outscored SMS in the second half 36-35, but the Lady Bears did most of their damage in the first half by taking a 37-28 lead into the locker room. The win moves the Lady Bears a half game over idle Creighton for first in the Missouri Valley Conference standings. They’re 17-6 overall and 10-2 in MVC play.
