Last week, the question mark over Quin Snyder’s future at Mizzou was removed, when Athletic Director Mike Alden called a number of media outlets across the state to reassure them that his basketball coach will be back in 2005-2006 regardless of their record this season. Speculation began after a 64-53 home loss to Kansas St. on January 29. Two days later, the Tigers blew an 11-point lead at Allen Fieldhouse to lose to Kansas 73-61 and the questions about Snyder’s job security gained momentum. But Alden said last week that he has talked with MU Chancellor Brady Deaton and MU President Elson Floyd, who have both given Snyder the thumbs up for next season. The day after Alden’s media blitz, Mizzou lost 81-63 at Texas A&M to drop to 10-12 overall and 2-7 in the Big 12.
