High school senior football players signed letters of intent to their colleges of choice Wednesday. The University of Missouri got 20 letters of intent and had three junior college players who had already signed for a class of 23 players. Two of the top players in this year’s class are QB Chase Daniel (South Lake Carroll HS, Texas), who was named the EA Sports High School Player of the year. Another big grab was tight end Chase Coffman from Ray-Pec High School in Missouri, who picked MU over K-State. Of the 23 players in the class,nine are from Missouri and seven are from Texas. The class, which is ranked 38th in the nation by Rvials.com took a hit when Hazelwood East wide receiver Chris Brooks backed out on a verbal commitment to Mizzou and chose Nebraska, instead. Brooks was considered the number two recruit in the state. The number one recruit, Rockhurst wide receiver will sign with Notre Dame. Head coach Gary Pinkel couldn’t attend the signing day festivities. He was at his brother’s funearl in Ohio.
