The Cardinals General Manager isn’t going anywhere. The team is close to signing Walt Jocketty to a three-year deal, according to an article in Wednesday’s St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Jocketty, who is major league baseball’s executive of the year has been without a contract since December 31. While he waited for the deal, other teams have approached him about his availability—the Diamondbacks were rumored to be one of those teams. The article said that Jocketty was seeking about $1-milion per season. He’s been the team’s GM since 1994.
