The SMS Lady Bears have grabbed their first verbal commit for their 2006 recruiting class. Taylor Silas of Flushing, Michigan has given head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson her word. Silas is a junior and averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists per game this season. Girls’ basketball is played in the fall in Michigan and Silas’ team, Flushing High School, was 16-5 and lost in the playoffs.
