St. Louis school teachers will start breaking state law Janaury 19th if they don’t get the contract they want with the school district. The teachers’ union has authorized a strike to start that day. State law makes teacher strikes illegal – although teachers have walked out three times since that law went into effect. Negotiators are meeting today. A spokesman for the union says talks so far have produced no meaningful progress. A spokesman for the district says there has been “movement.”
