Rescue workers in McDonald County are searching for an elderly couple who might have been swept away in the raging waters of the Elk River. The 70-year-old man and 67-year-old woman have been missing since around 9:30 Tuesday morning. McDonald County Sheriff’s officials say the couple’s son reported them missing when he saw their car in a normally dry wash that feeds into the river. The two had apparently left home for a doctor’s appointment Tuesday morning and never arrived. The couple’s home is near a creek bed east of Noel.
