The State Attorney General’s Office has released its list of consumer complaints. And, for the second year in a row, unauthorized charges to phone bills and switching long-distance prividers without the consumer’s consent topped the list. In all, Attorney Jay Nixon’s office received an estimated 88,000 consumer complaint calls, letters, and e-mails in 2004. The slamming and cramming complaints totaled 1,898. Following that were complaints regarding home repair and remodeling, travel scams and time shares, unsolicited faxes, financing, auto repair, credit, auto sales, debt collectors, and finally -sweepstakes and lotteries.
