The Rams can’t control their own destiny, but they did what they had to do yesterday to remain in the playoff hunt. St. Louis beat Philadelphia—albeit is stripped down version—20-7. The Rams opened last night’s game with 10 straight rushing plays for a 73-yard touchdown drive. It set up a big day for rookie running back Steven Jackson, who ran for 148 yards and the opening touchdown. Marshall Faulk finished with 54 yards on the ground. Marc Bulger made his first start since in three games since hurting his shoulder. He was 20-of-27 for 225 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Bulger hit Isaac Bruce for a seven yards touchdown pass in the third quarter. Jeff Wilkins hit field goals of 28 and 29 yards. The win kept St. Louis’ playoff hopes alive, but they can’t make it into the post season without a little help. The Rams will have to beat the Jets on Sunday and they’ll need the Seahawks to lose to the Vikings to win the NFC West. They can get into the playoffs as a wild card if the Redskins beat the Vikings or if the Panthers and Saints tie.
