Christmas Eve and many Missourians are either on the road or getting ready to hit to road to spend the Big Day with friends or family. Lieutenant Tim Hull with the State Highway Patrol assures travelers that troopers will be out in force this weekend, doing what they can to make sure Missourians get to their destinations – and home again – safely. He says several factors contribute to holiday crashes – including alcohol, inattention, and speed. During last year’s Christmas holiday driving period, 1,322 traffic crashes were reported on Missouri’s roads. There were 9 deaths and 616 injuries.
