An MU football player is in jail and accused of rape. Alvin Newhouse, a freshman on the team, allegedly grabbed a woman in his dorm, pulled her into his room, locked the door and raped her early Sunday morning. Newhouse, who hails from Dallas, Texas, is also accused of forcible sodomy. Reno Savala is Newhouse’s legal guardian. He says he talked to Newhouse and he claims the incident was consensual. Savala told the St. Louis-Post Dispatch “Alvin isn’t a rapist. He doesn’t need to rape anybody.” Newhouse didn’t appear in any games this season.
