A law firm founded by televangelist Pat Robertson is getting into a Kansas City case in which some abortion protestors were asked to move away from a busy intersection because their protest was creating a traffic hazard. The American Center for Law and Justice says police officers who asked the protestors to move were stifling their free speech rights. A district judge dismissed the case. The federal Court of Appeals, in a split vote, upheld that decision. The appeals court says police did not demand the protestors’ signs be removed – that they just asked that their location be shifted for public safety reasons.
