The president of a troubled charter air service died in that plane crash Tuesday night near St. Louis, along with his co-pilot. The St. Charles Sheriff’s Department identifies the victims as 50-year-old Tahir Cheema of Perrysburg, Ohio, and 43-year-old Eko Pinardi of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Cheema was president of Grand Aire Express of Ohio, which actually suspended operations last year after two back-to-back crashes, one fatal. The Federal Aviation Administration levied heavy fines against the company, but said it had improved its safety record.
