A new legislative session will usher in a new House Budget Committee Chairman. Representative Brad Lager of Maryville, who served as Vice Chairman of the committee during the last legislative session will become the new Budget Committee Chairman. He vows to be responsible with the taxpayers’ money. Lager does have a challenge ahead, given to the legislature by the voters. Voters overwhelmingly approved ending the diversion of transportation money to other departments. Lager says that will forced budget writers to make up $40-Million to $45-Million next year.
