Missouri’s losing streak reached three games with a 57-55 loss to Houston in the third-place game of the Guardians Classic. The Tigers trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half and nine points in the second half. Mizzou cut the deficit to one point but could not tie the game. The Tigers shot just 32 percent from the floor, and connected on just two of 16 three-point attempts. Jason Conley led Missouri with 13 points. Andre Owens scored a game-high 25 points for Houston, which lost to Missouri last week in the second round of the tournament. Mizzou drops to 2-3 with the loss……..In the championship game played in Kansas City, Creighton’s Tyler McKinney hit the game-winning shot with less than five seconds left in overtime, giving the Blue Jays a 65-63 win over Ohio State. Creighton becomes the first team to win the Guardians Classic twice. The Blue Jays first won the tournament in 2002.
