Congressman Said To Be "Fine" After Fall

West-central Missouri Congressman Ike Skelton is recovering from a fall he took in the hallway of a U.S. House office building. Skelton fell and struck his head as he wss returning to his office from a vote on the floor of the House. Skelton spokeswoman Lara Battles, who was with Skelton at the time, says the 72-year-old Democrat is “doing just fine,” though she doesn’t know what caused the fall. Skelton was treated by a physician at the scene but was taken to Bethesda Naval Medical Center in nearby Bethesda, Maryland, as a prescuation.

ABC Reports Paige Of Arena Fame Cheated At USC

The ABC newsmagazine “20/20″ reports Elizabeth Paige Laurie, after whom the new University of Missouri’s Paige Sports Arena is named, cheated her way through college at the University of Southern California. ABC makes the claim, based on an interview with Laurie’s freshman roommate, Elena Martinez, who tells the network Laurie paid her about $20,000 over 3-and-a-half years to write papers and perform other tasks. The Laurie family has released a statement saying Paige Laurie’s college record is a private matter, adding the family would have no further comment.
