High School Football Scores/Previews

For the first time in six years, a Kansas City school will not appear in Missouri’s big school championship game. Columbia Hickman won at Rockhurst 10-7 in a Class 6 semifinal game. Hickman advances to its second state championship game. The Kewpies face the winner of today’s game between Kirkwood and Hazelwood East….Raymore-Peculiar advanced to the Class 5 championship game with a 40-11 win over Park Hill South. Raymore-Peculiar last appeared in the state title game in 2002. Ray-Pec plays the winner of today’s semifinal game between Parkway Central and McCluer North….Classes 1-4 will play all their semifinal games today….In Class 4, Benton (St. Joseph) plays at Webb City, while St. Clair faces Clayton at Washington University in St. Louis….The Class 3 semifinals pit MICDS against Mountain Grove and Maryville vs. Harrisonville….In Class 2, No. 2 Caruthersville plays at No. 1 Blair Oaks, while Cameron visits Houston….In Class 1, St. Vincent is at Marionville, and Santa Fe takes on East Buchanan.

Tigers Stunned By Davidson

It’s another shocking setback for the Missouri basketball team. The Tigers lost to Davidson 84-81 last night at the Paige Sports Arena. The Tigers trailed by as many as 19 points in the second half. Mizzou cut the deficit to one point, but missed three shots in the final 8.2 seconds that would have tied the game. Linus Kleiza had 25 points for Missouri in a losing effort. Matt McKillop scored 28 for Davidson, which shot 60 percent from the field. The 2-1 Tigers will head to Kansas City for the final two rounds of the Guardians Classic. Mizzou plays Creighton in a semifinal game on Tuesday.
