Leo Criswell will play basketball for Mizzou, but does he want to? Criswell, who signed a letter of intent with MU on Tuesday, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that his mom forced him to sign with Missouri. In an article that appeared Thursday, Criswell said that if he didn’t sign with MU, his mother, Georgia Lyons, was going to make leave Coastal Christian Academy in Virginia Beach, Virginia and return home to Piper, Kansas. Criswell also told the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader that he wanted to go to Kentucky but that he couldn’t “go against” his mother. Lyons told the Post-Dispatch that Missouri was the only school that talked to her son about the kind of education they’d offer him. Criswell added that he’s not upset about going to Mizzou, but that it wasn’t his first choice. As a junior, Criswell averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds per game.
