Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon could be seen as the new titular head of the Democrat party in the state after Claire McCaskill’s defeat to Republican Matt Blunt in the Governor’s race, and Governor Holden’s loss back in the primary. Nixon isn’t too sure about being the head of the party, but he does point out the most recent election pointed out some major problems for his team. He says too many issues have driven a wedge between Democrats and mainstream Missourians. Nixon says Democrats in Missouri have a lot of work to do to get back to the levels of representation they had just a few years ago.
