Two new surveys show the presidential race in Missouri is tight, but President Bush still leads. The poll done for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and television station KMOV shows Bush leading 48 percent to 45 percent. The rest of those polled say they either have not made up their minds or will vote for a third party candidate. Bush’s lead is within the margin of error. A poll done for the Kansas City Star and television station KMBC gives Bush a 49-45 percentage point lead. Bush’s lead is within the margin of error. The head of the research unit which has done the St. Louis poll says Missouri is still Bush’s race to lose, but that Missourians are looking for change. He says Kerry has not given Missourians a good enough reason to shift to him.
