State campaign collection figures for the period of August 29th to September 30th are in, and it appears Missouri’s main contenders for Governor are having no trouble raising money. Democrat Claire McCaskill, fresh off her win over incumbent Governor Bob Holden in the Democratic Primary, picked up more than $2.9-Million in contributions during the filing period. That’s far ahead of the amount collected by Republican Matt Blunt, who raked in a little under $1.3-Million. Overall, McCaskill has raised close to $8.7-Million, while Blunt has collected almost $6-and-a-half-Million. In the important “cash on hand” category, Blunt has more than a Million dollars at his disposal, while McCaskill can tap into about $600,000.
