The Cardinals’ starting rotation for the National League Championship Series is set. Manager Tony LaRussa announced yesterday that Woody Williams, as expected, will pitch Game 1, Matt Morris, who pitched Game 3 in the NLDS will go second in the NLCS, Jeff Suppan will have the three-spot and Jason Marquis will move from the second spot in the rotation in the last round will go fourth. Tonight St. Louis and Houston open up the NLCS in St. Louis with Brandon Backe getting the start for the Astros. He was 1-0 against the Cardinals with a 3.00 ERA. Williams was 1-1 against Houston with a 9.00 ERA.
