Former Kansas City Royal Jamie Quirk has interviewed for the managerial opening with the Diamond Backs. Quirk has spent the last two seasons as the Rockies bench coach. Before that he spent eight seasons with the Royals and five seasons as their bench coach before being fired at the end of the 2001 season. Quirk, who was a fan favorite in Kansas City spent 11 of his 18 major league seasons with the Royals in three different stints. He was a part of their 1985 World Championship team. Arizona fired Bob Brenly in July and third base coach Al Pedrique was named interim manager. The Diamondbacks went 51-111 this season.
