A study will soon be underway at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis to try to find the genetic reasons for major depression. The research is led by Doctor John Rice, a professor of psychiatry at the School, who says a lot of work goes into this kind of testing and it’s going to require about 240 families with histories of major depression. Doctor Rice says all examinations and evaluations and evaluations related to the study are provided free of charge. Washington University is one of a number of sites throughout the country and the world taking part in this study.
